Engine drinking oil

Hey all, my engine/car..while everything is running mint, it eats oil like no tommorow. There is no visible leaking that I can see, and no visible smoke comming from the pipe so im not sure. ( I can only assume its burning it if I cant find any leaks), I just bought some thick as molassis oil (20w50) hopefully it will slow it down, or atleast not burn it as fast. Will do an oil change today to see. (also bought some additive that helps with seals and such)

My question is this....Is my engine a lost cause, should I just save and do a swap, or rebuild?. Like I said, the engine is still very strong.. but eats oil like no tommorow
forgot to mention, it goes through a full thing of oil in about 3000 KM.. (not one bottle of oil, im talking a FILL up lol)
P.S dont hate me for killing our ozone :(

That is a ton of oil to be lost, I can't believe that much could burn off and you couldn't see it. I would really just take it in to a mechanic and have it checked out. Your engine probably isn't a "lost cause" if it still seems to be running good. There is definitely a leak somewhere that just needs to be fixed. Good luck.

I had a similar problem, it stumped me for a little while. turned out to be the oil pressure switch. It would only leak when the car was running more than an idle. it didn't leave any puddles under the car. very tricky.
check it out, can't hurt, its a cheap part and
not to hard to replace.

I had an MX-6 V-6 that was using a quart every 300 miles(500k?). I switched to castrol GTX high mileage 20-50 and consumption dropped to a quart every 700 miles.

Well im off to Mazda to pick up this 'oil presure switch'. My car goes though oil like it's ****in' gas, hopefully this will work...and yah, i don't have anything coming out the tailpipe either.

The online manual is kinda vague, where exactly is the oil pressure switch?

Directly above the oil filter
