Do you have black smoke stains on your exhaust?? If so, then you're probably running too rich. Check to make sure all your vacuum hoses and sensors are plugged in right. Also, if your air filter/intake is dirty or clogged, it will mess with your air/fuel ratio causing more fuel to be burned. Did you gas mileage change at all?
------------------
~'94 GS

Hey Rick,
I have an aftermarket exhaust on as well and sometimes I get a strong fuel smell as well. Not sure how to solve it, but your not alone.
------------------
Marc 93MX3RS

A bit of black soot [aka carbon deposits] is normal. What kind of gas milage are you getting? If it's decent, then you should have nothing to worry about your fuel mixture affecting emmissions. You can change your mixture by getting a custom chip [JET and others are hoaxes], getting a Fuel Pressure Regulator, or getting a stand alone engine management system.
Also, I get a faint fuel smell frequently. Nothing to worry about.
------------------
David Coleman- Moderator
<A HREF="

I think it is a design flaw for some of our cars because I have had my plugs hop out before and some other MX3 owners have had the same problem
oh well! take the good with the bad I guess.
------------------
Marc 93MX3RS
