I am experiencing vibration in my car at 70mph+
I had the wheels balanced at Firestone which seemed to reduce but not eliminate the vibration. Any ideas as to what I could do next?
Oh yeah, I have some aftermarket 17" rims with low profile tires on them.
CHEERS

at around 70+ our cars can't really handle it. body panels start flying off at 80+ so be careful! but seriously, i'd check the suspension. it COULD just be the car.

i had the same problem.. my car vibrated like crazy. after i got the axles replaced it seems to run good as new at around 80 mph.. also you might want to think about getting a front strut bar...

the steering wheel seems to wobble from side to side very slightly and the rest of the vibration feels like it is coming from the wheel area. new axles sound expensive. what did that run you??

it is expensive.. it cost me around $1,200. if i were you i'd have it diagnosed to see what really is wrong or have an experienced mechanic to check it out first..

Two axles cost 1,200? Oh my. 1,200 sounds a little pricy but then again i paid alot myself. I got my front ones replaced for $200. Well one I got done at Mazda for 400 and that was last year and first they replaced the wrong axle and denied it and a year later their axle went bad!

hmm, id say something as simple as the wheels need to be balanced...
Start fixing cheap stuff before the expensive stuff.

Yes I know how expensive Mazda can be and I now am avoiding Mazda at all cost, because they are over priced and i believe their customer service sucks, well at least the dealer in PA. I am pretty mad that they stole my good axle and denied it, and then there axle went bad a year later, oh well whats money anyways.

Yeah the cheap stuff is the way to go.. a nice high speed balancing would be a good idea =]
