go buy 2 gallons of GunWash...
IT's a VERY good solvent that dries 100% and will not leave ANYYYY residue..
Just soak the block in it and I PROMISE there will be nothing left on that block but metal...
it's OK to run through the coolant lines aswell because it only softens up rubber for a day or 2 (we cleaned paint off lines that were left in our engine bay when we sprayed it)
just don't put it in the motor unless it's stripped...
