either the AE86 Corolla, or.. not go the 240, but an 89 200sx fast back. i had one before my mx, but the engine seals leaked horribly, and i was forced to give it up, i only paid 100 for it. had sun roof, automatic everything, jus be a nice car to setup for cruisin. either that or my dream, 95 3000gt. find one for 2500 or less, then ship over a tt VR4 engine

My brother just bought a 88 Mits. Turbo Cordia GSR for 700, and a J-spec engine for $399. It will run low 13's in the 1/4 mile when its done. and it looks like a complete sleeper. (A TTVR4 fits this car too)
I'm partial to the old FairladyZs (280Z 2+2, for the back seat), for $3000 you can buy one and make it a 11sec hybrid with a chevy V8.
Or just buy another MX3.
You said project car righ?

Twin turbo Z32 300ZX, fantastic for cruising, and pretty forgiving (in the dry) when you're pushing hard. Buying one on Monday! 8)

mitmaks wrote:there's lots of cars that you can get for $4800 as a project, you didn't give many factors as to what kind of car you're looking for though. Muscle car, import, etc. Daily driver, race track only, show car.... As for myself I know that next 5K that id buy next project for would be challenger, cuda, 93+ rx-7, 63 impala SS. Those are my choices though that Id spend that kind of money on
Is $4800 even enough to restore a muscle car's body  ?

If I had a extra $5000 I would buy a MX3 RS for $700, put that BPT on it, put the engine on the back (bye bye backseats), run RWD, take off 500 pounds and let it run. Now that would be awesome. It would take alot of work putting the engine on the back and getting some room but the weight distributation would really help out and yes, it is possible. There should be enough room in the back.
