i am eventually gonna go for an engine swap, but i just dont know if now is the time for it. $1000 sounds very do-able. What about labor though, because i dont really know too much about automotive mechanics, although i am interested and try to learn any time i can. ideally, i would like to get a friend to help me w/ the swap. if none of my friends felt that they were up to or able to help me w/ it, how much is a shop gonna charge for labor for the swap?

Honestly I don't know. Depending on where you go maybe $500+
