On the V6 model... theres a 15 AMP fuse that has Interior lights, clock, cargo and trunk lights on it... and everything works there but my interior lights, so cant be the fuse

How did you connect the inverter to the interiorlights??

If you cant find a blown fuse maybe you have destroyed your dimmer...

Easyiest way to find out is to borrough another dimmer and plug it in,see if it helps ;)

Heres how the guages worked.... From the New dimmer switch went a wire to the inverter and a live wire (to be connected to the live of the original dimmer), then the inverter went to the guages and ground wire.

Should I have disconnected the original live wire from the old dimmer? I just connected the new wire in the same place...

thanks again for your help

Soo if i understand you correctly you have a inverter with two wires and plugs going to the EL-Glo's "secondairy side" and a set of positive/negative wires "primary side" on the inverter...
And the last wire you mention is the controlwire of the EL-Glo dimmer Right??

And this controlwire you connected with the variable lead of the interior-lights Right?? :)

Sorry i cant explain this better...im not much of an electronics guy..but No, when i turn the dimmer up my lights dont come back on..i wish it was that simple. Heres a diagram i tried to draw of the guages.. the live wire i pointed out is what i connected to the back of the factory dimmer.

Okay that drawing was quite helpfull..

2 Questions then:

1.Did you connect the live wire of your new dimmer to the constant 12v on the back of the original dimmer or the variable output on the back of the original dimmer??

2.Your new dials still light up now allthough your interiorlights dont work right??

Ps:Have you checked that the constant 12v and the variable output of your original dimmer hasent been shorted by your new wire? ;)

Yes, I connected the new dimmer to the constant 12 volt of the old dimmer.. and the new dials work perfect..its just everything else,

I will check if any wires have been shorted... if thats the problem, how should i have hooked up the guages so that didnt happen ?
And what will I have to do to get my lights back on

Thanks again

If you hooked it up like you said, you cant have blown a fuse or burnt the wire because then you wouldent have any current going to your new dials.

So like i see it theres only 5 possibilities left.

1.The new wire you hooked up shorts the constant 12v and the variable output of the dimmer, thus giving the interiorlights 12v on both leads and no way to light up.(this could have killed your dimmer) :D

3.you either didnt push the plug all the way back in the dimmer after installing your new gauges,or by accident you loosened the plug so it fell out by itself after some drivingtime.

4.The groundwire of the dimmer is loose or has a open circut.

5.The variable outputwire of the dimmer has a open circut (measure conductivity from variable outputwire at dimmerplug to the easyiest accessable interior lightbulb-plug "I would take out the ashtray and measure on the light in there")

If you follow theese steps you should find the fault ;)

That was the one... those plugs snap on pretty damn good, so i never thought that was the prob. but im glad it was.... shes snapped in and everything lights up again

Thanks Dennis :2thumbsup:
