My 96 RS/auto, all original seems to be having tranny issues. When cold it seems to struggle to change between 2nd and 3rd and is slow to get into overdrive as well. Checked the basics, tranny fluid, etc. and they seem ok.

Is it fairly safe to assume the tranny is on its way out? Any way to know ...

ok...I will see if I can flip the latch over. I should have mentioned it is on the driver's side. I will have a look at the other side to see if I can tell what needs to be done.

I have a '96 RS and recently in the cold weather the door is unwilling to latch closed. The interior door lock button seems seized but has been that way for a while. Any ideas what could be preventing the door from closing? The mechanism in the side of the door seems to move freely.

I need to replace the CV joint by replacing the shaft but the old on eis stuck in the tranny. Any ideas on hwo to get it off without dropping the transmission?

I went out to start my 96 MX-3 4cyl today and the key would not turn in the ignition at all. When I moved the steering wheel it did not lock right away but rather seemed to have a lot of play in it before it finally locked.
