Re: Mazda Mx3 owner - UK - Major Overhaul

There is a wealth of info on this forum and it all helps. At the moment i'm trying to find suppliers of parts that i w...

Re: Stumped...
Hello,
The first thing that i can think of would be the mass air flow sensor and the harness going to it.
Try moving the wires a bit when on idle and also cleaning the sensor.
Also check your relays and see if any are sticking.
These are just guesses though.

Re: Can't fit drum over new brake shows on 93
Hello, I have just seen your post and the part that you refer to is the auto adjustment. When i have done drum brakes in the past i would use a flat blade screwdriver between the 2 parts and allow them to spring back to the zero position. Once the pads have been replaced and the drum re-assembled us...

Re: RPM going crazy when engine is hot
Hello,
First question, have you tried retrieving the diag codes?
Second, the RPM's is from the crankshaft sensor by the flywheel, have you checked or replaced this and also check the the wiring is ok going to it.

Re: 94 gs with a 93 DE belching black smoke but runs ok
Hello, you are welcome for the reply. The o2 sensors are called lambda sensors so yes. It is possible to remove the EGR setup by removing the exhaust front pipe, intake manifold (of which you will need to do to get to the knock sensor), and then you should be able to undo the exhaust manifold and re...

Re: 94 gs with a 93 DE belching black smoke but runs ok
Hello, I have just completed a head gasket change on my car and i found that i had the black smoke problem too. I changed the cat and decarbonised the engine as well as cleaning the egr valve and replacing the lambda sensors. This cured my problem with the black smoke. As for the running bad, you mi...

Re: Crescent shape washer?
Hello, Glad to hear that you have you car going :D The other method that i speak of requires a load of computer equipment and service tools to allow the sensors and on board computer to tell you exactly where the engine is in its cycle. I have been trying to get all the equipment to do this however ...

Re: Crescent shape washer?
Hello, The first question would be what engine do you have? (1.6 or 1.8 V6) Each engine has a different way of getting to TDC The only reason for the long screwdriver is that its the easiest way i know without a load of other tools and meters Turn the engine manually so the piston 1 is at the top an...

Re: Crescent shape washer?
Hello, Check that you have the timing correct. Position cylinder 1 at tdc, to check that its in the right place, remove the spark plug and use a long screwdriver to check that you are in the correct place, if not turn the crank into the correct position. Now check that the rotor arm is close to posi...
