Re: Overheated and did something stupid

And here you can see that Castrol Edge 10W30 is thinner in all respects than Castrol Edge 5W30. Some examples: Shell Helix Ultra 5W30 vs 5W40 I've attached the links to the PDFs so you can see for yourselves. I'll post the basic specs here too: http://members.iinet.net.au/~kakarot2@adam.com.au/Shell_Helix_Ultra_5W-30_(SL_CF_A3_B4)_(en)_TDS.pdf http://members.iinet.net.au/~kakarot2@adam.com.au/...

Motor Oil Viscosity FAQ

Ok here's some oil viscosity FAQ and my answers that can hopefully clear up viscosity questions about oil (even though this site is slowing down quite a lot). Also, I've been given some totally bullsh*t answers from people here in the past so I'm going provide some reasons why they're wrong. TLDR Ve...

Re: ProjectB10 - 1993 Eunos Presso HI-XS Special Edition

Cool, so there's nothing tricky or any negatives about using the 2417 over the 2415?

Btw, would love to see some vids of your car running!

Re: ProjectB10 - 1993 Eunos Presso HI-XS Special Edition

Haha I do have that thread by zydawn open in another window just realised you actually posted in it too  I saw that he used SPF 2417K but you also had SPF 2415K. Is the 2415 just a standard option and the 2417 that double offset thing? Not sure I need double offset. Btw very jealous of your ga...

Love the dedication to your beast! Do you have the super pro part numbers for all the bushings you used? How do you rate the ride quality improvement after doing all of those bushings?

Re: Hook's(95_MX3_RS) 93 KLZE build

Nice car. Love the colour. Your mods and issues are so similar to mine - KL31 cammed ZE Curve neck IM Relocated the coolant overflow same Similar CAI setup I also have an innovate wideband - my clutch slave has screwed me over too. Actually a few times now and I just pray for less traffic and rev ma...

Exhaust fumes entering cabin

When I drive my KLZE MX-3 up a hill and at speed (80kmph+) I will get a disgusting smell of what smells like exhaust fumes. This happens even with the air vents completely off. I don't think have an exhaust leak but reading on probetalk, they mention boot vents and how they get stuck open and draft ...

Re: klze not running well.. sputtering and popping under thr

Distributor could be the issue or badly grounded HEI mod if you've done that.

Coolant temp sensor can also cause a bog and miss if that's faulty but you've checked codes so it probably isn't that.

What ECU and VAF are you running? The wrong ECU and VAF combo will cause similar issues also.

Re: Looking for a JDM KLZE engine

Regardless of ZE or DE; just use a strong little flashlight and look down the oil fill cap hole. If it's sludged, don't buy. If it's very light gold or silver, go for it!

Re: Throttle is a bit harsh.. need help ! klze.

You might need to play with the throttle cable's mounting bracket near the throttle body. I had a problem when I went to curve neck manifold on my ZE where the cable was a bit loose. It idled too high and sort of drove itself, with bad throttle response too because of the looseness. I literally angl...

Re: Code 5 KLDE and misfire

I'm friends with Stoker100. We bypassed the knock sensor on my car with a resistor and I've been reaping the rewards for years. http://mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=79912&p=626263&hilit=knock+sensor+resistor#p626263 And yes removing the IM and all that coolant piping for a bulls--...
