Re: Offical Kelowna 2009 10th Annual Meet Thread July 16-20
I need to check the dates against the Family camping trip. My dad has planned a trip and I can't miss it. But I think it is the week after. And I spoke with Josh, he said he was for sure in to go. But I will let him know he needs to come post!
I am excited and it is still Feb!

Re: Offical Kelowna 2009 10th Annual Meet Thread July 16-20
for prices, it is yet to be determined as it is not booked, but based on last year, and having 2 tents on the site expect the cost for the site to be around $80-100/tent for the days posted. some of us will be going up earlier or staying later. as for the rest... gas, booze, food for a fun filled time it is worth the couple bills it will cost.

Re: Offical Kelowna 2009 10th Annual Meet Thread July 16-20
thanks jen. a little sort of bad news, i had emailed kelowna city hall and got this back. there is a car show "summer nite car show" going on saturday july 18th which will be closing down roads, sounds like the downtown core which should not effect us for going to the park but there is a "across the lake swim" going on at city park in the morning. im not sure what time but its in the morning so we should be good if we go there around noonish. i tried to book the back corner at our usual spot but she said to check with the parking lot company to reserve a lot somewhere else but im pretty sure everyone would like to sit at the park and relax. so thats it for now, still checking on some other stuff as well.

Re: Offical Kelowna 2009 10th Annual Meet Thread July 16-20
You can't actually book a spot in the parking lot unless you cough up a lot of $$$ and take out Liability insurance. So how I worked it before is that we just showed up and picked a section that was somewhat empty and managed to fill up the gaps with MX-3s as other cars left. If we aren't actually classifying this as an "event" with Kelowna City Park, they don't care because no additional insurance is technically required. It is just people visiting and using the park . I was only advised to keep things low key and fairly quiet. No pounding music or burnouts. So a few years back when Clayton came pealing into the parking lot, wheels squealing, engine revving, and sliding into a stall; I thought we were going to get the boot for sure. The parking patrol guy gave me a little talking to after and I just pretended we didn't know who Clayton was.
So anyways, just pick a time for people to show (believe you mentioned noon) and who ever gets there first can pick the best available spot. Kelowna City Park will be fine with it as long as you behave. I arranged for a catering food trailer to be on site a couple years back but it seems like most people ate before hand or had a late breakfast after a drucken night. So there was not point to continue booking them.
So anyways, that's just my 2 cents.

sorry for not posting latley, but I haven't received a notification to my e-mail that there are new posts and I have been really busy with a dead furnace in my house as well as two hot rods I'm helping build. Thanks to Jesse, Monte and James for fielding the questions.

Hey evo_spec - you mentioned rims - if you're coming to kelowna it would be pretty good timing to sell them to me!

Re: Offical Kelowna 2009 10th Annual Meet Thread July 16-20
$80 for all four? I have pretty good rubber here, so if you want to recycle it or keep it as backup then by all means, just bring the rims As long as the caps are paintable it's a deal.

Re: Offical Kelowna 2009 10th Annual Meet Thread July 16-20
yeah, the caps are just plastic (which is why the factory paint came off) so they are paintable, i'll probably borrow schools tire machine to take the olds one off then (if he lets me, haven't been there for 2 years =P)
kinda ended up jacking this thread, but it's just another reason i gotta go on this trip! can't wait!
